Entry into College

Stepping into College

As usual I forgot about the admission period of the subsequent year also. Last minute waking up and rush may not help. In filling up of the application, I wrote 'not doing anything' in the previous year. There were comments from the people who saw that the college may not like this. I said, that is the truth, hence why should I hide. If they are keen let them ask for details.

But by the time another person who was working in Madurai airport suggested, a new college is coming near airport, why not we try. He insisted I start and come with him right now. So I took my certificates and went with him to the college.

We met the Principal ( there was no crowd or signs of admission). On seeing the mark list he said 'first group you can be admitted. if you want, right now'. We said we did not come prepared (for paying fee) but he said that can be done later and wrote my name and details and put 'Admitted'.

 This is how my next phase of education - in a College started, totally unplanned. (Planned by somebody else!). I joined the college after a fortnight, on the scheduled date.

That was the starting year of the "Saraswathy Narayanan College". It is from the Chettiar Group who are well known for spreading education.

For me, the college again in walkable distance so my walk continued - through dry fields, with many seasonal foodgrain plants. the smell will be so pleasing I never wanted to walk fast inside those area. Especially while returning I used to move around the fields to get more and more newer aroma.

The classes began and went well.

I was good in studies and became a 'good boy' to lecturers. Two of my classmates were the sons of  owners themselves, and returned from USA. Though they wanted to be friendlier with us, their English was a little block to us, and evened out over time.

Here too I had some interesting instances and observations.
