Incidents

1951, 21 July
That was the day I came into this earth.
We were in a rented house at that time. Later after a few years our house was built. I still remember the help I did for the construction of carrying some building materials to the mason.
I can not forget those days because it was during the construction I got hurt (?) and awarded with a scar which remained as the most visible identification mark - a scar in the left cheek

The flooring was being done. The metal (stones) were spread for concreting. It was late in the evening and the work was stopped. I was playing in the outside. There came a drizzling and I ran inside the house. And it happened - I tripped and fell on the metal spread, and a sharp stone pierced the left cheek, leaving a good hole.,

Lot of bleeding, inability to eat anything, open wound, cruciating pain...
The mason, duplicated himself as a doctor and treating me. He attended to me than the construction works.

An ointment - Armugam Kalimpu, famous in those days - was applied in the damaged area and covered with a cloth (to close hole). I think he did change the dressing twice a day. He was expert in making me take food by avoiding the hurt cheek coming into any contact.

No worry about infections, cleanliness or any sort of things that are being talked in today's medical science. The hole got closed (leaving a scar), the wound healed and normalcy returned.
